We all like to customize our desktops to reflect our tastes. We do this by putting a picture of our favorite bands as the wallpaper, using our favorite color as the operating system color scheme, and with the newest softwares available we can even dock our favorite programs fancily right on our desktops.
Custom icons are another great way to make using computers fun. Having a mini T-Rex where the Recycle Bin should be is one example of custom icons. For people who use custom icons and change from one set of icons to the next rather frequently, 365icon is surely a mouthwatering delight. They provide some of the highest quality free icons available on the internet.

I always wanted to do a post on Wallpapers, specially High Quality. Have loads of them in my hard disk, packs and packs of them and If I start sharing all those it will take ages. So, I thought why not share them category wise? only the best ones. With that intention, here’s my first post on high quality wallpapers, starting with Nature. Why I choose nature is because they look extravagant specially when you’ve un-checked “Show Icons on Desktop” =). I hope you like these.

I always got stuck when editing a home made video, adding those special effects with music etc looked like a hell of a job. Not anymore, here’s a website that lets you edit your videos with all the required elements. Presenting Masher, where you can create online videos, mash up pictures and music.
You can upload your pictures, music and videos and then edit them in their online Studio. There are lots of pre-given effects, music files, skins and even videos which you can use to either experiment or use them in your stuff. The Timeline is also very easy to use (see screenshot below):

The first one is the Skins bar where you can add skins like a LCD TV, Marquee lights or even a breaking news scene. After that, add a effect, like Rain, stars or whatever you prefer. It also gives you the ability to add text. So do check it out if you’re looking to edit your home videos in a professional way.

Windows 7, something which is way better than Vista (I hate Vista) – speedwise and supports almost every thing. Most of the users (like myself) have shifted or are being shifted to Windows 7 gradually. There are many awesome windows 7 applications, almost all the major ones already have their own versions which are for windows 7 only. I’ve compiled here a small list of Windows 7 applications that you will definitely like, some of these applications are new and are in beta phase (which you can also participate in the testing and development), rest have their final versions, so on and so forth.
1- Windows 7 Application Launcher (7APL)
7APL is an application launcher made with Windows 7 in mind. You can launch single applications or group of applications with a single hot key or by using the newest features of Microsoft’s latest OS — JumpLists and interactive thumbnails which are well-integrated into the application. This gives you 3 easy ways to launch applications:
- Right click access to profiles through JumpLists (whether the app is opened or closed)
- Customizable hot keys for each individual profile
- Interactive thumbnail to view/launch profiles (hover over 7APL icon in taskbar)

Features Include:
- Profiles – Group applications into profiles to launch them simultaneously.
- Profile pictures – Associate pictures with profiles to easily identify between them.
- Hotkeys – Specify hotkeys on a per-profile basis to launch your applications
- Interactive thumbnail – Launch profiles directly from the taskbar
- Jumplist support – Launch profiles or tasks directly using jumplists
- Toggle Mode – Toggle mode allows you to close the apps you launched (on a per-profile basis)
- Exceptions – Pesky applications that won’t close can be added as an exception
- Pinning – The application pins just fine for those who want it constantly running
- Options – Run 7APL at system boot, minimize on startup, and minimize on close ensures you can keep the launcher running at all times if desired

I have to admit, I’m a wordpress theme hunter myself since I run some blogs based on it. Getting a new theme is always refreshing, for me and for the readers. Not often but yes, I do it randomly. If you’ve been to Smashing Downloads earlier, you might have noticed a change =). Anyway, for past couple of weeks or so I’ve been saving / bookmarking new wordpress themes that I didn’t confronted earlier. They’re high quality for sure so to save people some time, I’ve combined a list of 14 wordpress themes and I hope you like them.
Also, if you want more, I’ve complied 13 Awesome Collections of Free Wordpress Themes in the past. Do check that one out as well.
